How to Delete Your AIM Account Here's how to manually close your AIM account, including your AOL email account: Sign in to the AOL account termination page with your AOL or AIM user name and password. Read and understand the termination information before continuing with the cancellation process. Select Continue Delete My Account to terminate your AOL or AIM Mail account. On the confirmation screen, enter your AOL or AIM Mail email address. Select Yes, Terminate This Account to proceed. Wait until a notice appears informing you that your account has been deactivated and scheduled for cancellation. Select Got It to complete the cancellation. If you abandon your AOL account by refraining from logging in for 90 days, it might become deactivated and unusable until you reactivate it. Deleting the account permanently removes your username and access to your account.
