How to Add a Sender to Your Contacts Fast in AIM Mail or AOL Mail

By , About.com Guide

It's easy to find an old email from somebody you want to mail in AIM Mail or AOL Mail, of course. It's just as easy (maybe faster) to find that person in your address book, though, and you can add a phone number, addresses and other data, too.

Fortunately, adding senders from emails old and new is joyfully easy as well in AIM Mail and AOL Mail.

Add a Sender to Your Contacts Fast in AIM Mail or AOL Mail

To turn a sender into an address book contact swiftly in AIM Mail or AOL Mail on the web:

  • Open a message from the sender you want to add to your contacts.
  • Position the mouse pointer over the sender's name or email address (beneath the email's subject).
  • Wait for a contact sheet to appear.
  • Click Add Contact.
    • If the sender is already in your AIM Mail or AOL Mail contacts, you can use View and Edit instead to access the existing address book entry.
  • Fill in at least the first or last name field under Name.
  • Add a phone number under Phone if you desire.
  • Click Add Contact.
    • Select More Details instead to add addresses, professional information, birthday and more.
