How to Flag a Message for Follow-Up in Zoho Mail

By , About.com Guide

Waiting for the birds to sing, the sun to shine, the muse to buss, the mail to arrive or the colleague to yell "Done!"?

If you cannot deal with an email in your Zoho Mail inbox now, you can just let it sit, of course; you could also flag it, though, to make it stand out as a reminder. Speaking of reminders, Zoho Mail will offer to create a new task (and due date) to keep you on track — and track of the message flagged for follow-up. It's easy.

Flag a Message for Follow-Up in Zoho Mail

To flag an email for later in Zoho Mail and, optionally, create a follow-up task in Zoho Tasks:

  • Click the flag in the message list or the message's header area (right in front of the sender) with the right mouse button (or hold down Ctrl while clicking on a Mac).
  • Select Follow-up from the menu that comes up.
  • To also set up a task for actions associated with the message:
    • Click OK when you are asked Do you want to associate a follow-up task for this email?.
    • Enter a target date for acting on the email under Due date.
    • Change the item's title from the email's subject under Title if you like.
    • Pick an importance under Priority.
    • Optionally, add any notes or additional comments under Description.
    • To be reminded of your email task in your browser and per email, make sure Remind is checked and pick a date and time under On.
    • Click Add Task.

To flag more than one message for follow-up in Zoho Mail (without creating tasks in Zoho Tasks):

  • Check all desired emails in the view or folder.
  • Click Mark As in the toolbar.
  • Select Follow-up from the menu that comes up.
