To set up Shortmail in your email program, though, or have another email service (say, Gmail or Yahoo! Mail) pick up the short and good messages you receive at your Shortmail address, it takes IMAP or POP — and those, thankfully, protect access by password.
With Shortmail, adding a password for IMAP and POP to receive and SMTP to send mail is, luckily, straight forward and affair.
Set Up a Shortmail Password (for IMAP, POP and SMTP)
To add a password to your Shortmail account if you log on using Twitter, Facebook or Google+ so you can access your account via an email program or another email service using IMAP and POP:
- Click the Edit Settings gear in Shortmail.
- Go to the Account category under your Shortmail email address.
- Enter the desired password under both Password and Confirm Password.
- Click Save Account.
