The server timeout specifies how long Outlook Express should wait for a server to respond when it tries to send or retrieve mail. Set this to a longer time when you have a slow connection to the Internet or if your servers are very busy (if you set the timeout to a small value (30 sec.) and your server usually does not respond before two minutes, you may never receive any mail because OE will give up before the server has a chance to reply). When you have a fast connection and your servers usually are quickly responding, you can minimize the timeout.
