"FORWARD AN EMAIL MESSAGE" Page 1, 2, 3, 4
What it Should Look Like
Let's have a look at how a message forwarding another message should look like.
The Header
First, the message headers -- those of your message, not the one you want to forward:
From: Heinz Tschabitscher <sender@example.com>To: heinzl <heinzl@example.com>
Cc: lilou <liloustan@example.com>
Subject: Fwd: Kafka, Kafka!
As you see, the "Fwd: " indicates that the message contains a forwarded message. It is not absolutely necessary, however, just a convention.
The Body
The body could (or should) like this:
Hi,Peter, in a kafkaesque way, sent me the following.
I follow him.
----- begin forwarded message -----
From: Pet/er <semper@example.com>
Date: Sun, 16 Jan 2000 01:16:00 -0500 (EST)
Subject: Kafka, Kafka!
Does he write beautiful sentences? (Yes)
Does he write true sentences? (Yes)
"There goes the help, without having helped."* (Yes)
--
* Apparently (?) Kafka's last words (??)
have nice dreams!
Pet/er
----- end forwarded message -----
gute nackt,
-heinz\l
