Whitelist a Domain Manually in Zaep

By , About.com Guide

In general, Zaep is an anti-spam tool that you can launch and forget. Mail from unknown, distrusted senders will be dropped while those who really want to reach you authorize themselves and get through without your intervention.

There are some special cases where human intervention is helpful or even necessary. Senders of newsletters may not be able to authorize and, as a result, you may not get a mailing you signed up for.

That's why it's usually best to manually add the senders of newsletters to your Zaep whitelist the moment you sign up. I have added the "about.com" domain, for example, to make sure the About newsletters I like to get do arrive.

To whitelist a domain manually in Zaep:

  • Double-click on the Zaep system tray icon.
  • Select Accounts from the navigation bar.
  • Double-click the desired account.
  • Follow the White List link.
  • Scroll down to Sort Wild Card White List By.
  • Type the domain name, preceded by '*@', in the Email Address: field.
    • To whitelist the "about.com" domain, for example, type "*@about.com".
  • Click Add.
