SpamStalker - Spam Filter

SpamStalker - Spam Filter

Heinz Tschabitscher

The Bottom Line

SpamStalker is a nice tool for reporting spammers (or bounce mail back to them), but due to its simplistic filters fails to protect your Inbox from spam. SpamStalker is no longer available.
Pros
  • SpamStalker lets you trace and report spammers
  • Can bounce mail back to spammers, too
Cons
  • SpamStalker's filters are not precise
  • Supports POP accounts only

Description

  • SpamStalker checks multiple POP email accounts for new mail and spam.
  • SpamStalker applies simple content filters (which can be edited) to detect spam.
  • Additionally, SpamStalker lets you use a white list of senders whose mail is never spam.
  • You can bounce spam back to the send and report the spammer automatically or manually.
  • Mail quarantined by SpamStalker can be put back on the server for download to your email program.
  • SpamStalker supports Windows 9x/ME/NT/2000/XP.

Guide Review - SpamStalker 3.03 - Spam Filter

Reporting spammers to their ISPs is an effective way to fight spam, but it is also inconvenient and cumbersome.

With SpamStalker, it becomes relatively simple and convenient. SpamStalker does the tracing and sets up a complaint which you can send to the appropriate address easily.

Unfortunately, SpamStalker is not quite as useful when it comes to filtering your mail for spam. It applies only simple keyword filtering and a white list of trusted senders to detect spam, and the results are not particularly precise.
