Guide Review - BoogiePOP Enterprise 3.5 - List Hygiene Tool
Even though requiring double opt-in should make sure only valid addresses get on the list, the returned messages will come before long. Handling these bounces manually is no option, and not all bulk email applications include satisfactory bounce handling.
Fortunately, there is BoogiePOP Enterprise, which provides this service using its BoogieBounce API. This powerful back-end recognizes just about any bouncing message it encounters (BoogiePOP Enterprise supports over 1000 formats altogether).
Of particular value is BoogieBounce's ability to detect the return messages from challenge/response spam filters, allowing you to authorize yourself as a sender of good mail with them. BoogiePOP Enterprise can check multiple POP accounts (unfortunately no IMAP) for bouncing messages periodically and writes detected bouncing addresses to a database. Using a freeform SQL statement, you can do that flexibly, but it probably requires some effort to get it right.
