One way to avoid this is not to include your email address, but this makes it more difficult to contact you. A way to both make it convenient for you visitors to email you and still protect your address from spammers is provided by ASS Maker.
Tell ASS Maker your address and optionally a default Subject, Cc: header or message body, and ASS Maker constructs some JavaScript code. This code is interpreted by browsers like a plain mailto: link, but to harvesting robots it will not at all resemble an email address, so they'll leave it (and you, consequently) alone — until the spambots recognize these links.
