Add a Sender or Domain to the SpamPal Whitelist

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

SpamPal uses a number of techniques to detect spam. They're all valuable and usually get it right. Sometimes they get it wrong, though, and misidentify a good message as spam.

To avoid this for friends, colleagues and newsletters you receive, it's possible to add them to a whitelist. Mail from whitelisted senders will never ben filtered as spam by SpamPal, no matter what blacklist it is on, no matter how high its spam score.

I wanted to make sure I'll always receive my About newsletters, for example, so I added the about.com domain to SpamPal's whitelist.

To add a sender or domain to the SpamPal whitelist:

  • Click on the SpamPal system tray icon with the right mouse button.
  • Select Add to Whitelist... from the menu.
  • Type the email address you want to whitelist.
    • To add a complete domain to the whitelist, type '*@' followed by the domain name.
    • To add the about.com domain, for example, and whitelist all About newsletters, type "*@about.com".
  • Click Add.
