Add a Sender or Domain to the Friends List in Spam Inspector

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

Spam Inspector learns as you correct its filtering mistakes. Due to its somewhat complex nature, it can take some time until Spam Inspector gets everything right, though, and you may want to avoid having mail from certain senders filtered as spam altogether.

Fortunately, Spam Inspector lets you keep a list of known, friendly senders whose messages always make it to your Inbox. I have added the "about.com" domain to this list, for example, to make sure all the About newsletters I have subscribed to are unhampered by any filtering activity.

To add a sender or domain to the Friends List in Spam Inspector:

  • Select Spam Inspector | Manage Friends List... from the Spam Inspector toolbar or from the Outlook menu.
  • To add a single email address, make sure Email is selected under Add a New Friend.
  • To add a complete domain, select Domain.
  • Type the email address or domain name you want to add.
    • To friends-list all About newsletters, type "about.com", for example.
  • Click the >> button.
  • Now click Close.
