Guide Review - ZoEmail - Email Service
How about spam-free email?

No, really spam-free: no filters to train, no lists to maintain and no "Junk" folder to watch.

Improving on the idea of disposable email addresses, ZoEmail provides email accounts with a near-perfect spam record. This works because every message to your ZoEmail account must be sent to an address that contains a special key.

Messages to addresses with no or an unknown key are dropped. Typically, you create a key — and thus a special email address — for everybody you want to communicate with.

Now, the best thing about ZoEmail is that this usually happens automatically. Whenever you mail somebody from ZoEmail for the first time, a random address will be in the From: line. The recipient can save this address to her address book and communicate with you without the threat of spam filters (or ZoEmail) ever catching the message.

But what about people you do not know yet, which email address should you give to strangers or list on your web site? For all these occasions, ZoEmail lets you create "temporary" keys. Mail sent to such a key gets through, but if you reply, the sender gets her personal key.

Should you ever receive spam at such a public-key address, you can easily dispose the key in spammer's hands and create a new one. Still, ZoEmail does require some discipline and management if you want to use it for more than known friends.

It's great that ZoEmail is accessible via IMAP and POP in addition to the web, but more online storage would not hurt. Improved stability and customer service might make more happy customers, too.

Zoemail is goneJune 23, 2009By andyGel
"The site indicated termination of service as of July 5th 2009. I have moved all my accounts to Soodonims which is similar, but improved and has no fee. I had a support issue and they were unbelievable, even based on the standards of a paid service. For free that is quite something. ABG"
