Description
Guide Review - NewsGator Online Services - RSS News Feed ReaderRSS feeds are a fantastic way to follow news and web site updates fast and efficiently until you try to access your subscriptions from more than one point. If you use NewsGator for Outlook at home and a web aggregator on the road, keeping the subscriptions in sync is a pain and having to read everything twice or missing something important is almost inevitable.
Enter NewsGator Online Services. Using smart synchronization that not only makes sure the subscriptions match but also and always know which items you have already seen so you're not confronted with them again, NewsGator Online Services provides universal and efficient RSS feed access via the web, email, mobile devices and, of course, NewsGator for Outlook. You can even specify for each feed which access point should carry it, which makes differing and overlapping subscriptions possible. The email edition of NewsGator Online Services allows you to read your news in any email client. It's a pity there's no IMAP access, though. The web and mobile editions are simple, elegant and efficient. You can organize feeds in folders and save individual posts for later (the system could be more flexible here, though). Using your feeds and your ratings of individual posts, NewsGator Online can suggest interesting content. The lack of "internal" search is compensated by comprehensive smart feeds that track keywords or content related to a specific post or web site, or aggregate mail sent to a certain email address. |
