Here it is: Lockergnome News Feeder turns RSS feeds into very accessible technology. It comes with a number of useful resources covering, inter alia, news, weather and downloads neatly organized in categories and ready to be consumed. If your favorite site is not among the preset, Lockergnome News Feeder makes it easy to add its feed. Whether preset or custom, reading RSS feeds is a joy in Lockergnome News Feeder.
Unfortunately, the other side of the coin is that Lockergnome News Feeder is also a bit simplistic and reductionist. It limits the RSS experience to browsing news items when it should also be organizing, searching, archiving and generally using the news.
I find it difficult to keep track of a collection of feeds if I can't flag individual items, for example, and it's also a pity that Lockergnome News Feeder can't check for feed updates automatically. And while highly usable, the news display in Lockergnome News Feeder is also a bit limited, missing inline images and HTML formatting. Isn't RSS also said to mean Rich Site Summary?
