How to Enable Subject Line Modification in POPFile

By , About.com Guide

POPFile classifies mail automatically and attaches its classification to the messages as a tag. One of the way in which POPFile can make it seen what category it thinks a message belongs to is by modifying the Subject.

POPFile then inserts the category name surrounded by square brackets in the Subject - for you to see, and for your email client to filter mail automatically based on POPFile's classification.

Enable Subject Line Modification in POPFile

To let POPFile mark mail in the Subject:

  • Select Configuration from the POPFile navigation bar.
  • Make sure Subject line modification is set to On under E-Mail Text Insertion.
    • If it is set to Off, click the Turn on button.
