How to Change the New Mail Sound in Pegasus Mail

If you think new messages arriving in your Pegasus Mail New mail folder should not only look all shiny and new but also sound good, you can make it play whatever you like.

Pegasus Mail does not come with a new mail announcement sound, but you can choose any custom sound, those used by other email programs or the MSN Messenger sounds, for example. Now, let's turn on new mail notification via sound in Pegasus Mail and make it play the preferred tune.

Change the New Mail Sound in Pegasus Mail

To change the new mail sound in Pegasus Mail:

• Select Tools | Options... from the menu.
• Go to the User interface | Reporting/logging category.
• Make sure Play a newmail alert sound is checked.
• Click the Select sound button.
• Choose the desired wav file.
• Click Open.
• Use the Test button to verify Pegasus Mail plays the right sound.
• Click OK.
