How to Display the HTML Source of an Email in Outlook Express

By , About.com Guide

Sometimes, you may want to view the HTML source of those pretty messages you have received in Outlook Express. Maybe you want to find out how they did that with the scrolling Outlook Express stationery, or you're just plain nosy.

Display the HTML Source of an Email in Outlook Express

To see the raw HTML source of a message in Outlook Express:

  • Open the message in Outlook Express.
  • Press Ctrl-F2.

This brings up your default editor with the source as a temporary file.

Note that Ctrl-F2 only shows the body of a message, not any of the headers (you can display them in Outlook Express, too, though).
