How to Attach Files Via Drag-And-Drop in Outlook Express

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

In Outlook Express, you can add attachments easily via the toolbar or the menu.

But there is an even more intuitive and sometimes faster method to create attachments in Outlook Express: drag-and-drop.

Attach Files Via Drag-And-Drop in Outlook Express

To use your mouse to attach files to emails in Outlook Express:

  • Open the folder containing the file you want to send in Windows Explorer.
  • Now click on the file with the left mouse button.
  • Keeping the mouse button pressed, drag it over to the Outlook Express message window.
  • Drop the file anywhere over the message creation window by releasing the mouse button.

Outlook Express will automatically add it as an attachment.

Attach Multiple Files in One Go

You can also use this method to attach more than one file at a time. Simply mark the files you want to add and drag them over to the Outlook Express message to drop them there.
