Guide Review - SafeMail 1.05 - Outlook Express Backup Tool
With SafeMail, it's both easy to create the occasional backup using its swift wizard mode and just as easy to make scheduled backups using SafeMail's command line arguments and a task scheduler (the one built into Windows will do fine). SafeMail creates a zipped backup copy of all your emails in Outlook Express, your address book, message rules and blocked senders and includes your stationery and favorites folders as well.
Backing up just a subset of any of these is possible as well. Since SafeMail does not use a proprietary file format to keep the copied data, you can always extract it "by hand" for recovery.
Of course, SafeMail itself also includes a swift restore command. And you can even make SafeMail create a standalone backup that lets you recover without a dedicated SafeMail installation (on another computer, for example).
