Underlining in Plain-Text Messages

With HTML email messages, highlighting text and underlining is easy. But how do you underline a word or passage when you compose a message that contains only plain text?

Underlining plain text is easy, and it even looks better and is probably easier to read than text with a real line under it.

To mimic underlining:

  • Put an underscore character before and after the passage you want to underline.

For example, _this is an underlined passage_.
