Hide Spam in Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape or Mozilla

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

The spam filters in Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape and Mozilla can automatically move all the junk messages from your Inbox to the Junk folder.

If you don't want Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape or Mozilla to mess with your email, but still don't want to see the spam, however, there's something for you, too: using message views, you can hide detected spam temporarily.

Hide Spam in Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape or Mozilla

To move junk mail out of view in Mozilla Thunderbird, Netscape or Mozilla:

  • Click on the View: drop-down menu in the search bar (above the message list).
    • If you cannot see the search bar, select View | Show/Hide | Search Bar from the menu in Netscape or Mozilla.
  • Select Not Junk.

This will mask those messages whose junk status identifies them as spam. To return display to all emails in the folder, select All from the View: menu in the search bar.
