How to Forward a Message Quickly in Mac OS X Mail

Being able to forward everything to everybody easily is one of email's greatest features. Of course, Mac OS X Mail has this feature, too.

The fastest way to forward a message in Mac OS X Mail is the keyboard shortcut. But pay attention! The shortcut is not — as one might expect — Command-F, which is reserved for searching.

Forward a Message Quickly in Mac OS X Mail

To forward a message quickly with Mac OS X Mail:

  • Press Command-Shift-F.

Forward a Message as an Attachment in Mac OS X Mail

You can also forward a message (in all its glory including all header lines) as an attachment — albeit not by way of a keyboard shortcut — in Mac OS X Mail 3 and later:

  • Select Forward as Attachment from the menu.
