How to Show Only Mail from a Certain Sender in Mac OS X Mail

Some people not only have something to say, but you like what they say. Their emails are particularly interesting.

Unfortunately, on a mailing list there can be so much to read that you barely have the chance to read the very interesting remarks from these very important participants.

Mac OS X Mail offers a helping hand in such situations with the search box in its toolbar.

Show Only Mail from a Certain Sender in Mac OS X Mail

To see all and only mail from a certain sender in Mac OS X Mail:

  • Start typing the sender's name or email address in the main Mac OS X Mail window toolbar's Search field.
  • Click From in search criteria toolbar that appears.
  • Click All Mailboxes or the current folder name to widen or narrow your search.

Show Only Mail from a Certain Sender in Mac OS X Mail 1

To display only mail from a certain sender in Mac OS X Mail 1:

  • Select (the first) From from the Search Mailbox drop-down menu (the one with the magnification glass).
  • Start typing the person's name or email address.

Mac OS X Mail automatically filters the currently open mailbox for your search string as you type in real time and displays only emails from your VIP.
