Guide Review - MailObserver 0.6.1 - Mail Checker
MailObserver does the bare minimum, but it does it with style. MailObserver dutifully checks multiple POP accounts (no IMAP, unfortunately) periodically. New mail is announced in the status area of the menu, but I can't say I was too happy when that happened: the filled envelope looks a bit grim. Certainly no good news.
MailObserver also tended to forget my password, and features such as message preview or filters are missing. Still, MailObserver is a simple, unobtrusive mail announcer.
