Unfortunately, MailDrop is no longer available.
- MailDrop offers flexible and powerful mail merging
- Easy to use, elegant, and simple interface
- MailDrop offers a preview of individual messages including rich HTML formatting
- MailDrop lacks conditional text or scripting for further message personalization
- MailDrop doesn't come with an internal SMTP sending engine
- Can't process incoming mail or bounces to subscribe/unsubscribe automatically
- MailDrop lets you send emails in bulk through an external SMTP server.
- Flexible mail merging including up to ten custom fields lets you send customized mail in MailDrop.
- MailDrop import and export formats include XML and plain text.
- Supports both plain text and HTML messages with full Unicode compliance.
- MailDrop lets you preview individual messages (with support for HTML).
- Includes tools to eliminate duplicate and invalid email addresses from lists.
- MailDrop supports Mac OS X.
Most importantly, MailDrop lets you personalize messages using a great number of database fields including custom ones. Getting data into MailDrop is easy, too, with flexible importing options.
Unfortunately, MailDrop can't connect to a database server directly. This could further enhance the personalization with segmenting and write-back. Support for conditional text is another possibility.
If you can do without these power features and can deal with lacking support for multipart/alternative messages, MailDrop is a nice tool for sending personalized bulk email.
