Make Sure Knowspam.net Doesn't Think Newsletters are Spam

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

Using challenge-response tactics, Knowspam.net blocks most spam. While "good" senders will respond to the challenge and authorize, spammers usually will not.

Unfortunately, senders of newsletters, who are good senders, are often not able to authorize either — not if thousands of their recipients use a challenge-response spam filtering service.

Fortunately, it's easy to whitelist newsletters in Knowspam.net manually to make sure you can continue to read your favorite mailings without interruption. I have whitelisted all About newsletters immediately after signing up, for example.

To make sure Knowspam.net does not think newsletters are spam:

  • Select Setup from the Knowspam.net navigation bar.
  • Follow the Good Senders link.
  • Type the domain you want to whitelist under Add New Domains.
    • To whitelist all About newsletters type "about.com", for example.
    • To enter more than one domain at a time, type each on its own line.
  • Click Submit.
