How to View a Message Using a Fixed Font in KMail

Some emails have (plain text) tables in them that look awkward if you use a proportional font to view them, some text in emails is so cleverly aligned that you're missing something essential if what you see is distorted, and some emails even include ASCII art, which is morphed into something totally new, though hardly better, when not seen through a fixed font.

To cut a long story short, sometimes you've got to see what an email looks like in a fixed font. KMail makes this very easy.

To view a message using a fixed font in KMail:

• Press X.

Pressing that X again will return to your default font. Of course, a menu item for this toggling command exists as well: View | Use Fixed Font.
