Post to Mailing Lists Easily with KMail

If you receive mailing lists, you are probably using filters to put them in special folders in KMail. This way, the mailing list messages don't clutter your inbox and you can read them in an organized manner.

But having a special folder for a mailing list has at least one more benefit in KMail: it gives you an easy way to write a message to the list. Each folder in KMail can be associated with a list address, and composing a message to this address is simple via the menu.

To make it easy to post to a mailing list in KMail:

• Click with the right mouse button on the folder that holds the mailing list's messages.
• Select Properties....
• Make sure Folder holds a mailing list is checked.
• Enter the email address messages to the list must be addressed to.
• Click OK.

Now you can compose a message to the list by selecting Message | New Message to Mailing-List from the menu in KMail.
