How to Delete a Folder in Windows Live Hotmail

If you have the power to create, the power to annihilate is not a necessary consequence, but a very useful one. Since you can create folders to organize your messages in Windows Live Hotmail, you can also get rid of them when you no longer need them. It's easy.

Delete a Folder in Windows Live Hotmail

To delete a custom Windows Live Hotmail folder:

• Follow the Manage folders link beneath the folder list.
• Make sure the folder or the folders you want to delete are checked.
• Click Delete in the toolbar.
• Now click OK.

The folder does not have to be empty for you to delete it. If there are still messages in it, Windows Live Hotmail will move them to the Deleted folder automatically.

Delete a Folder in MSN Hotmail

To remove a custom folder from MSN Hotmail:

• Select the Mail tab from the Hotmail navigation bar.
• Follow the Manage Folders link.
  • You can find this link under the list of folders at the left side of the screen.
  • If you see neither the list of folders nor the Manage Folders link, click the >> link above the message list to show them.
• Make sure the box next to the folder you want to delete is checked.
• Select Delete from the toolbar.
• Click OK.
