MegaMailScript 1.0a1
MegaMailScript is a pretty smart add-on for Mac OS X Mail that finds people who mail you often and sets up folders and filters for them automatically to keep your Inbox organized. Unfortunately, it only works with POP accounts, doesn't capture mail you send to those contacts and is generally in its infancy still.

MailSense 2.0.2
MailSense is a nice mail checker with simple, but easy to use and quite useful anti-spam functionality.

Mail Them Pro 7.04
Mail Them Pro is an easy to use tool for almost all tasks that efficient bulk mailing requires, but with small limitations here and there.

SpamButcher 1.7i
SpamButcher is an easy to use anti-spam tool. If its filters were more precise and would auto-adapt, SpamButcher could be a great anti-spam tool, too.

Mail Password Recovery 1.1
Mail Password Recovery can recover forgotten email passwords for POP email accounts from any email program. Unfortunately, it doesn't work with IMAP or other account types and is restricted to passwords sent in plain text.

Serial Mail 2.6
Serial Mail combines Mac OS X Mail's email capabilities with the Address Book's address list to delivery quite flexibly merged bulk emails. It is not particularly comfortable to use Serial Mail, though, and advanced text processing is missing, as is database write-back.

NewsPiper 2.3.1
NewsPiper is a swift tool for browsing news headlines that either come via RSS feeds or that it extracts from web pages itself. Other than displaying headlines in a concise interface and via a useful ticker, NewsPiper's abilities are limited, though.

Express Archiver 2.6.0
A great tool to export and archive emails in various formats from Outlook Express, Express Archiver is no backup tool that would allow you to restore messages when disaster strikes.

AOL Instant Messenger 5.5
AOL Instant Messenger lets you exchange quick, no-frills text messages with your buddies in a simple manner, but also supports video and voice chat quite nicely. It's great to see that AIM supports encrypted communication. Unfortunately, contacts must be online and there's no automatic history built into AIM.

Spam Manager 1.0.7
Spam Manager can tag or remove spam on multiple POP accounts using built-in filters and blackhole lists. Unfortunately, it is neither very precise nor effective, and the filters can't be configured.

CheckP3 4.4
CheckP3 is a great tool for interacting with your IMAP, POP and Hotmail accounts directly, and it checks for new messages periodically, too. Unfortunately, CheckP3 lacks a bit in usability and user interface design, which also shows in its incoming-mail announcements.

Mailsmith 2.1.1
Mailsmith, the email client from the makers of BBEdit, is just as powerful and feature-rich as the text editor.

NetNewsWire Lite 1.0.8
NetNewsWire Lite is a simple way to read the news that come via RSS. It comes with tons of feeds already in the "sites drawer" so you can start immediately. Don't expect advanced features, though.

NetNewsWire 1.0.8
NetNewsWire is competent and flexible RSS feed reader and blog editor. It's a pity that NetNewsWire lacks some essential (per feed schedules, for example) and more advanced (virtual folders) features.

Chrysanth Mail Manager 1.8
Chrysanth Mail Manager lets you filters your mail using DNS blacklists of known spammers in an easy to use and elegant interface. Unfortunately, this alone isn't extremely effective and a good deal of spam gets through.

Aliencamel
Aliencamel can render your email practically spam-free and scans for viruses, too. The best part is that you don't have to download all the spam while false positives are minimized, thanks in large part to personalized Bayesian filtering.

AllSpamGone 2.0.1
AllSpamGone almost eliminates spam by applying a strict authorized-senders-only policy. Unfortunately, this may annoy new senders, and spammers using commonly authorized addresses still get through.

nPOP 1.0.1
nPOP does almost everything a fully featured email client does, but it does it from a floppy (or on a Pocket PC) and online.

Merak Mail Server 7.1.6
Merak Mail Server is a complete, capable and secure mail server that can adapt to all mailing needs gracefully and integrates server-side Bayesian spam filtering as well as instant messaging.

RSS Captor 1.0
RSS Captor is a bare bones RSS feed aggregator with great search functionality but little else going for it.

Spartacus Spam-Filter 1.3.2
Spartacus Spam-Filter is a fast, efficient, precise and easy to use spam filtering plug-in for Outlook and Outlook Express. Wouldn't it be great if you could teach it to classify your mail in more categories than just junk and not junk?

OE Tweaker 1.0.1
OE Tweaker makes it easy to change a number of hidden Outlook Express settings and comes with a nice editor for the "Blocked Senders" list.

Mail Snoop Pro 1.02
Mail Snoop Pro makes for a nice mail checker, and it comes with a long list of filters aimed at curbing spam. Unfortunately, these filters are not very precise and will delete good mail if you don't use the white list extensively or disable them.

Eudora 6.0.2
Eudora is a classic, powerful, flexible and efficient email client that cans spam precisely, too, and shows nary a weakness.

WorkgroupMail 7.6
WorkgroupMail is a versatile and fully featured mail server that works great for centralizing and controlling mail traffic in any organization.
