A "watch" is a virtual folder. You tell the watch which keywords you're interested in, and whenever a feed is updated, the watch scans it. If it find an item containing one of the keywords, the item will show up in the virtual folder dubbed watch.
I'm interested in Citroen, for example, so I've set up a FeedDemon watch that uses "citroen", "citreon" and a few other varieties. Whenever The Cartoonist talks about Teh Goddess, I'll learn first-hand, and I can postpone going through other, less urgent postings.
How does the old saying go? Long introductions, short instructions.
To set up a watch (virtual folder) in FeedDemon:
- Select New | New Watch... from the toolbar.
- Give your virtual folder a Title:.
- Enter the keyword under Watch for news items that contain these keywords:.
- Click Add.
- To add multiple alternative keywords, repeat the previous two steps for each.
- Click OK.
