How to Change X-Eudora Options on Windows

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com Guide

With X-Eudora options, you can tweak all of Eudora's countless settings, the obvious as well as the hidden, the simple and the dangerous ones.

You will see references to X-Eudora options in the form of a URL: <X-Eudora-option:...> or merely by name.

Change X-Eudora Options on Windows

To set an X-Eudora option:

  • Create a new message in Eudora.
  • Type "X-Eudora-Option:" in the body.
  • Type or paste the name of the option you want to change immediately after "X-Eudora-Option:".
    • Make sure there is no white space between the colon (':') and the option name.
    • Add a whitespace character after the option name, though.
    • Type "X-Eudora-Option:TabooHeaders " to edit the TabooHeaders X-Eudora-Option, for example.
  • Hit Enter.
  • Click on the now highlighted string while holding down the Alt key.
  • This brings up a dialog that allows you to edit the X-Eudora-Option.
    • The dialog also displays the default and current values of the option.
  • Type the desired value under New value:.
  • Click OK.
  • Discard the message.
