Delete an Email Newsletter Subscription in Bloglines

By Heinz Tschabitscher, About.com

Reading your email newsletter subscriptions in Bloglines is easy, convenient, efficient and nice, but there's another, less obvious benefit. You can use Bloglines email addresses (created to subscribe to newsletters) like disposable email addresses.

As soon as the address you used to sign up for a newsletter has -- by whatever means -- fallen in the hands of spammers, you can simply delete it. This will make all mail sent to the address bounce, and it prevents you from seeing any more spam.

Naturally, you'll also stop to receive your newsletter. If you are absolutely sure the newsletter's publisher has nothing to do with your getting spam, you can create a new Bloglines address and sign up anew. Make sure you have unsubscribed the old address before, though, or simply change your email address with the newsletter publisher.

Now, to delete an email newsletter subscription (including its email address) in Bloglines:

  • Follow the Manage Email Subscriptions link at the bottom of your subscriptions list in Bloglines.
  • Click Delete for the subscription you want to delete.
