Yes, it is obvious.

But I think I remember (vaguely remember) searching for somebody's email address for at least several days before it occurred to me I could just walk over or give them a call and ask.

So spare yourself the days and

  • ask for the email address right away if you have a means to contact them.

Make sure you write the email address down immediately, and add it to your email client's address book immediately, too. Asking people for their email address is like asking for their name. You should only do it once.
