Everybody likes to hear their name or see it in print — or on the internet. On the web, finding such mentions is particularly easy.

Many people put their names in a search engine now and then to see what has been said about them. I know I do it, at least.

You can use this self-love to find somebody's email address. Or, more precisely, you can have that email address find you.

Find an Email Address by Making it Find You

To find somebody's email address by making that somebody find you:

  • Publish a page on your site that says: "Looking for..." and explains who you are, and who you are looking for.

Make sure the name (and nicknames) appear several times on the page. Don't forget to include a way (your email address, preferably) to contact you. If you want you can submit that page to search engines, too.

If the person you are looking for searches the Web for her name, she may find your page, and contact you.
