Pretermit is an unlikely verb. From Latin "praeter" (beyond) and "mittere" (to send), it means to let go without mention, of course, or to leave undone.
In Gmail offline, you can pretermit in yet a special fashion: leave undone an email's delivery even beyond the point when you clicked Send.
›› "Send" an email and then take it back again? In Gmail, you can — if you get into this habit.
