How to Turn the New Mail Alert Sound On or Off in iPhone Mail

My to-do list must be broken. Too many to-dos huddle there.
Just like email, with which something is obviously wrong as well: everybody gets too much of it!
The least we can do, I guess, is turn off new mail alerts; in iPhone Mail, for example:
