A flat black hat on and a bubbly smile across his face, he's always around the kitchen: Indo-Japanese god Daikoku-ten is where the food is.
This, of course, is also where the mice gather. So mice became associated with Daikoku and a symbol for wealth and harvest. They also celebrate Thanksgiving, for sure:
