How to Have Windows Mail or Outlook Express Send Mail Immediately

Monday September 29, 2008
If you send a million emails in an hour, that should get noticed. How, then, do spammers go undetected?
Spammers send the million messages from just about as many different — hijacked — computers. It's almost impossible to spot these machines, all of which deliver maybe 2 or 3 junk emails per day.
One way to deal with these spam-spouting botnets is to slow down email for everybody. While your typical email program will readily wait a minute or two to deliver a message, spamming tools quickly give up and go elsewhere — at least as long as they can find places that accept mail instantaneously.
Speaking of email delays: what if your Windows Mail does not wait a minute or two to deliver messages but until the next time you check for new mail?
