When the Holy See is in the news, it is always nice to see and hear the active use of Latin. An interview — in Latin, mirabile dictu — with Father Reginald Foster, who is among those who translate all Vatican documents into Latin and has a weekly radio show on Vatican Radio, was particularly refreshing. Recently, I also had the chance to hear a Yogi proficient in Sanskrit talk in and about that ancient Indian language.
Unfortunately, these two are not yet languages spoken by Gmail. But 13 others are:
