Mother and Children StationeryAfter Tenno had become a Zen master, he visited the famous master Nan-in. When Nan-in asked him whether he had placed his umbrella to the left or to the right of his shoes (it was a rainy day), Tenno did not know the answer. So Tenno became Nan-in's apprentice and continued his studies.
Why I am telling this story? I love the provocatively challenging Zen stories, of course. And I think mothers, Mother's Day and this stationery can only profit from the awareness Tenno is after:
