Thanksgiving Greeting Cards
Wednesday November 24, 2004
Happy faces, sad faces, frowning faces, smiling faces, thoughtful faces,... it is not by mistake that emoticons use facial expressions to communicate emotions. But why is it that, for example, fear spreads quickly, even if bystanders cannot see the face of the fleeing (and cannot get an idea of why they are fleeing either). It turns out, says Dr. Beatrice de Gelder of Harvard Medical School, that body language is very efficient at communicating emotions like fear or happiness.
Email greeting cards are pretty effective at communicating Thanksgiving greetings, too (and maybe you can find one depicting a person in a thankful posture).
Thank you for sending an email greeting card this Thanksgiving. Thank you for thinking of me.
