Email alerts are taking over (and, once email is restored, will prove more valuable than RSS feeds, at least in many cases). New from the Google Labs: Google Web Alerts. Enter a term or phrase and an email address, and Google will do a search daily or weekly, mailing you new results.
Google Web Alerts are great to monitor who -- apart from blogs monitored by Feedster -- is linking to you, for example, or to find out about new pages for your favorite topics. To find out about new pages that interest you but you don't know it yet, it's always enriching to read the weekly digest from the Librarians' Index to the Internet.
